Most Web designers seem to understand that
writing accessible Web pages is a good idea, but when they set out to do it, they find many reasons why they don't want to. One of the most common reasons I hear for not writing accessible HTML is because "accessible Web pages are ugly". I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but
most Web pages are ugly, whether they are accessible or not. It's not that making a page accessible that makes it ugly. But this article should help you get out of the ugly accessible website blues and start building sites that are beautiful but also accessible for others.
