Exciting new product from Adobe - Adobe Edge
 |
Today Adobe has released a new public preview from the
Adobe Labs that should be of big interest to many web designers—
Adobe Edge.
Adobe Edge is a design tool for creating animations and interactive pages in HTML5 and CSS3. I had the opportunity to see it in action, and it looks really interesting. It makes it easy for a designer to build HTML5 animations with CSS3 effects just like they would in an animation program.

Right now, Edge is in public preview, which means it is available for download for free through the preview period. Adobe is releasing it this way to get feedback from the people who would use a product like this—web designers.
What I like about Edge is that it is fully HTML5 and CSS3 compliant. You can create a brand new element (such as an interactive advertisement or animated web page section) and then import that into an HTML5 document. Or you can open an HTML document in Edge and add your animations directly.
I am looking forward to trying this out!
