Right now, my ecommerce poll is showing that 30% of respondents would like to learn how to build an ecommerce system from scratch. In other words, you don't want to use a tool like osCommerce. Can you tell me why you want to learn this? Is it just for the joy of knowing how to do it? Are you concerned about the costs? I was surprised that so few people are interested in learning how to use an open source tool like osCommerce that makes creating an ecommerce website relatively painless. But I can also see the satisfaction in learning how to do it "from scratch". Please comment! I'd really like to know your thoughts on learning ecommerce.
