Linear Gradients with CSS3
Gradients are a very popular design choice for background images on both pages and elements like buttons. But until recently the only way you could build them was with images which slowed the page load because of the image and because of the extra HTTP request. CSS3 makes it possible to create gradients right in the browser, so no extra image and no extra HTTP request. And best of all, it works in IE (down to version 6) as well!
