Link Checking Never Really Ends
 |
Over this summer, I've spent a lot of time correcting broken links on this website. I started out, in July, with over 1200 broken links. As you can probably guess, I don't like to do link checking. It's slow, tedious, and never ending. I'd much rather write an article on
CSS sprites or build a new
free web template or answer questions in my
forum than find and fix broken links. But I decided that this was the year I was going to get rid of them, once and for all (at least until the checker runs again). I worked from mid-July until September 20
th and got my broken links down to
zero. Yay me! Of course, there will be more appearing the next time the checker runs, but I feel very good about this accomplishment. Find out why I decided that fixing broken links was important. Read my article
Why Correct Broken Links.
