Link Love - eBooks, Paged Media and Web Designers
 |
A few days ago I posted an article about
paged media. And this generated a few questions asking mey why I was bothering with something (
the @page rule) that so many browsers don't readily support. After all, I've said myself many times that
the Web is not print, and Web designers shouldn't obsess on the types of things that keep print designers up at night (we have our own nightly demons). But one thing that is going to get more and more popular with devices like the Kindle, the Nook, and the coming iPad is eBooks. And while eBooks are more like Web pages than printed books are, eBooks are also more like printed books than Web pages. And eBooks are a form of paged media (at least as they are displayed on most eReaders). So this week's collection of links is around how Web designers can learn more about eBooks and paged media. I hope you find them useful. And as usual, if you have other sites you'd like to recommend, please include them in the comments.
