One of the biggest frustrations most designers have is with browsers. How can you get your web page to look the same in every browser? I have worked with designers who would create a graphic in Photoshop of how they wanted the page to look. Then they would take a screen shot of what the HTML developers created, and overlay that on the Photoshop image. If the images didn't exactly line up, the HTML developers would be asked to correct things. I had one reader tell me that he can spend months tweaking his pages to make sure they look exactly alike in Internet Explorer and Firefox. This is a valid way to design web pages. But it's not terribly efficient. I also know designers who create a separate CSS file for IE, Firefox, and Safari. These browsers get completely different looks (in one case, you might not realize you were on the same site). And I have been told by a lot of new web designers that they generally just test in IE and call it good. This is also a valid way to design. But it's not always user friendly. How important is having your pages look identical in every browser to you?
