You may be thinking "what do I need with an HTML entity lookup form when I have access to character tables like this ASCII character table or this table of math symbols and so on. But this tool makes it so much easier to look the entities up. You simply type in a character that looks like the special character you want to add to your page. The HECL displays related characters. For example, in my screen shot, I typed "c" and got characters like ¢, ©, ç, and even ⊂.
